Immigration alert – Use of the Digital Nomad permit in Kenya

The Di​gital Nomad – Class N permit, is now operational in Kenya. The permit will be issued for a period of one or two years and is renewable to a foreigner who is not a prohibited immigrant.
​


Eligible applicants
  • Any person with an employment contract for a company registered outside Kenya.
  • Any person who is a shareholder or conducts business on behalf of a foreign company.
  • Any person who offers services as a self-employed to clients who are located outside Kenya.

Requirements

In addition to the standard requirements of a permit, the applicant is required to provide:
  • Proof of monthly income using bank Statements/Payslips for last three months.
  • Proof of accommodation such as a hotel reservation, lease/rental agreement.
  • Letter of no objection from the local embassy of the home country.

Application fees

  1. Processing Fees - 200 dollars
  2. Issuance fees (payable upon approval) -  1,000 dollars per year.
